This weekend Blizzard entertainment announced their sequel to the most popular and successful RTS of all time. While details are sketchy at the moment, blizzard says that they've been working on the game since they completed Warcraft III: Frozen Throne and that the game is "very far along." The game will pick up where Brood Wars left off and will feature the same three races from the original game (without an additional fourth race). Raynor, Zeratul, and Kerrigan have all been confirmed to be in the game but that's about all they've said in regards to the story at this time. For more info, follow the bellow links:

And thus, a mighty cheer rose from Korea and people celebrated in the streets.

A new national sport was on its way.

Although I am a big fan of PC games, I have never played Starcraft. Unfortunately, I was into C&C when that came out..

Is it still worth picking up, even though it is almost 10 years old?

Man, i was so excited about this -overdue- announcement. I loved the first game, and played it and the expansion all the way through several times. Yeah i'm really into C&C as well (lord knows I play Red Alert all the time still) but I was glad to make time for this game. I love strategy games and Starcraft was one of the best. I love how it was all about large armies as well as strategy with them. Hopefully this one will just rock.

I just picked it up a few weeks ago.

I have only recently gotten into the RTS thing. I have been playing the original Age of Empires. I am waaaay behind on the RTS scene.

If you can handle looking at a game with graphics that are 10 years old...then yeah, I think it's worth it. I still go back and play the game sometimes. It's amazing to see what they did with the game, the cutscenes are still beautiful, and the story is still deeply engaging to my mind. I make no promises because I dont know you well enough or how you judge games/what you want from games....but I'd always recommend this game, it's a classic.
