Sweet! Between this and the November 2009 solicits from Dark Horse, it's good to have some good news to distract us from the canon wars that've been metastasizing over this and other boards. Just wait til Season 2 actually comes out--not much we can do about it at this point. *shrug*

Just a head's up here: We're moving around some pub dates, so stay tuned. Next week I'll be posting a blog reflecting the revised calendar. The major change is that we've moved some of the Fate of the Jedi novels, beginning next year, to give the authors a bit more time to write .... longer novels. We conjured up a few beefy subplots to add to the mix that are really going to increase action, tension, and characters and wanted to be sure each author has enough time to really develop and write the stories without a lot of rush.

Thats great news Sue! Thank you for keeping us posted!

Heh. You know it's bad when fans are giving heartfelt thanks for having to wait for their next fix...

Still, this is good news. Keep it up. Longer waits are a good thing.

That is amazing. I don't mind waiting longer for longer books with awesome sub plots. And if it means that there will be a subplot featuring a non skywalker/solo, even better. I feel like we are truely being listened too. It is an awesome feeling. My only wish is of the olden NJO days where there would be another author come in and do a 2 or 3 book run that wasn't part of the main war and featured different characters, my favorite example is the Dark Tide novels, with Corran and Ganner as main characters, and Final Prophecy, im not sure if that was main plot line or side plot line, but Corran and Tahiri plus Dark Journey and Traitor were good side plots as well. It'd be cool if Crosscurrent could be called labeled FotJ with a side plot. And have another one near the end featuring a master or two with some knights/apprentices.

Crosscurrent's "present time" is 41.5 years after the Battle of Yavin, putting it very close after the end of Legacy of the Force. It's very cool because occasionally Jaden reminiscences about his role in the war.

That's awesome! Jaden getting put into parts of the war. Sue is there any nod to Jedi Academy? Mention of the Disciples of Ragnos, his master being Kyle Katarn, or Rosh Penin?

Sue, you've now made my day 3 times! This is absolutely excellent news!

While the waits will try to kill me, I know they'll be worth it!

Thank you for listening to us both on this and the mandalore stuff, and everything else. I don't think I can express how much the (relatively) personalized interaction means to all of us.

It is great that there will be a change made to the lenght of the Fate of the jedi novels, I think that the novels to date although GREAT have suffered a bit due to the shortness of the books.

I am really looking forward to what the changes in the lengths of the books will bring and what these new "sub-plots" will bring.

It is fantastic that the "powers that be" are listening to the fans.

Adding my two cents, I think it is fantastic that the efforts are being put in place to make the novels longer. I admit it, I am greedy, all I want is more(as long as the quality is there). I have never felt bored, or that the story was unnecessarily stretched, in the longer books written by Mr. Allston and Mr. Denning before(star by star was pretty long, and awesome throughout).

The longer wait is a bit of a bummer, but I'll make that trade-off every time.
