Yeah, mine too. My favorite book of her's was Sacrifice, and my least favorite was Revelation, IMO. And I am currently reading her Republic Commando books, and I've only read Hard Contact, which was pretty good. And The Clone Wars: No Prisoners was AWESOME, what with Pellaeon and the whole new Jedi faction and there views of attachment. But hopefully her two Imperial Commando books will be just as good.
Sue, do you guys have any ideas as to whats gonna happen with her Boba Fett novel?

Kubariet is dead.

I think she has the right idea though. I think TCW is also possibly putting future novels at risk of not selling. If people start thinking that all the EU stuff is going to be superseded by TCW, why buy any future novels? I certainly wouldn't because anything in them wouldn't be "true". Now I can see if Lucas himself is deciding to change things, it's his baby, but the writers shouldn't be able to just change established things to fit a story. The show is good, but I'd rather have it axed completely than to just change continuity.

How come over here in the UK we have to wait nearly 2 weeks longer for the books to be released? I cant get a copy of Abyss until the 3rd September!
Wow. Sorry about that. I don't know why it takes longer there --

re: Karen Traviss, Boba Fett, and The Clone Wars --- I just read Karen's blog -- and can't reply to the posts because it's Saturday and I don't have the whole story. Still, I knew there were issues with the Boba Fett title, so I imagine it will be cancelled. This doesn't mean that you won't be reading about Boba Fett -- He's a major character.
The new chronological issues that the animated series have brought up: Leland is working on mitigating the impact on old and new fiction, but until the TV series is completely finished, he won't know the extent of what he has to work with. None of this is new information --
I like Karen's writing, too. She's a very strong and passionate author.

I don't have the whole story.
It's a shame that KT would announce her decision to the whole world without giving you guys the full story.

I personally believe there should be a break in continuity. What is wrong with a chose your path, the Book/Comic continuity or the TV series continuity. I for one support all the early Clone Wars authors such as Traviss and others.

She may have, I don't know -- cuz it's Saturday and I won't know until Monday. She wouldn't have talked with me, anyway -- I'm not the boss.

If you're not. Who is? I thought you and Leland were in charge of all things canon in Star Wars

I've got mixed feelings.
On the one hand, I dislike the jedi portrayal. However, I am totally hooked on the RC books, Skirata/Nulls/Omega and Delta. I was really hoping she could continue on with that somewhat indefinitely. I also thought she would do a bang up job with the fett book, not that someone else can't.
As far as TCW cartoon goes: I like watching it with my kids, but in my mind I don't place it into continuity whatsoever.
Since I beleive it was GL who wanted all EU stuff to flow continuity-wise, I do think it odd to be the one disrupt it so greatly. He could tell all the great stories he wants and with a little input from the team, avoid such issues.

It had been very sad news indeed. I've real all of her SW books and I absolutely loved all of them. They are the finest example of what serious, adult-orientiered SW fiction can be, the only other examples being Stover's and Karpyshyn's novels. I will definitely miss both her books that would now never be written and her continuity, that made the character of Fett shine like never before, and would now be overwritten. And yes, I will definitely read both Imperial Commando novels with a definitely new sense now - the one of grief and sorrow.
