Sue,
I hope this is the proper thread for this (and I apoligize if it is not) but, I would just like to thank you (and anyone else who is responsible) for finally starting to make unabridged Star Wars audiobooks on a regular basis. I hope that they continue from now on. I love being able to send requests for them to my librarian asking him to place an order for them for our library. They don't buy abridged audiobooks anymore and I love seeing Star Wars back on the shelves.
Also, do you know if Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor will be produced as an unabridged audiobook? I hope so. It's now one of my favorites
Thanks again!

Hey Zebra3 --
Thanks for your note. Yes, I very much appreciate the unabridged audio books as well -- the whole story is there, and I no longer have to read stories with plot lines cut!
Random House Audio didn't pick up all the Del Rey titles in their contract this time -- Shadows of Mindor is one they chose not to do. Unfortunate.

How are all of these copies of Outcast getting out so early?
I have no idea and haven't heard this -- I just today received the final cover flat (the cover itself) so I doubt it's even on the books yet... what are people reading??? There may have been review copies sent out, I'm not sure -- are folks reading reviews??? I'm in the dark here.

Love that title, Sue!
Me too, even though I voted for "Star Wars: The Evil Backlash in the Shadowy Path of the Dark Side"

Yes, I am assuming they are review copies because a lot people have read the entire thing... but i was always under the impression SW didn't do review copies. Spoilers have spread across the internet like wildfire. Madness I tell you!
Well, I am trying to stay away from the spoilers in case they are a crock. But, just wanted to ask and inform you of what was going on. Thanks!

Hummm..... I'm surprised. Not about the review copies necessarily, but the leaks. I'm surprised the reviewers leaked. They're supposed to be more professional. Ack.

I was surprised too, to tell you the truth... but I wouldn't blame it all on the reviewers just yet.. could there have been any other sources? I am not too sure about how these things work, but yes, some major spoilers have gotten through.
Either way, the spoilers have certainly created a buzz, so I am not too sure it's necessarily a bad thing. I'm guessing a lot more copies will be sold now that the people who were wary about the series at first know/have an idea about what to expect.

There's been huge interest since the spoilers came out since everyone wanted to know what happened after LOTF.
With the amount of spoilers its insane. But if they are true, it looks like this will be one of the best series you guys have put out. (and thats saying something after the NJO!)

Well, there's someone selling printing proof/review copies [google or check a certain auction site] and it looks like they have been for some time, so either one reviewer got a lot of ARCs or someone got a hold of printing proofs and is having a fire sale.
The entire book has been spoiled and on certain sites people have reproduced entire scenes and pages and scans and these have been in the wild for well over a week now.
Either you have a really unethical reviewer or someone snagged a load of printing proofs. The cover scan I just saw was an obvious printing proof.

A couple other things ---
Del Rey has decided to publish DEATHTROOPERS as a hardcover instead of a paperback, and it's now coming out October 13th.
And it looks like BACKLASH is being moved to January 26, 2010.

Wow... big updates.
Well, it's all "pie in the sky" right now as far as I'm concerned. Seems like there's a lot coming out soon, anyway.
Thanks Sue
