Then how come the NJO didn't take that long with a staggering 19 books?
Because there were many authors and the authors for the upcoming couple of years of books were all writing at the same time.

Ah I see.
Well I'm reading the NJO at the moment - LOTF actually makes it a lot more powerful in terms of Jacen - and am in the middle of Star By Star, and Denning's mentions of Wraith Squadron - presumably to tie in with Allston's duology, and use of his own characters flows seamlessly, whereas in LOTF it seemed very jerky jumping between the Mandalorians, the Hapans, and the Pilots. I dunno, that might just be me though.

Welcome back, Sue! It's great to see you on the forums again. I hope that you are doing well and enjoying times with loved ones and everything good. 
You seem to be on fiyah with your question-answering. You wouldn't mind a timeline question, would ya?
Based on the LOTF timeline you did, and with Revelation taking place twelve weeks (which I believe are five-day weeks, but I could be wrong) after Sacrifice, it seems that Invincible could possibly take place at the beginning of 41 ABY. Are there plans for the LOTF timeline to be completed, and a definite placement for Invincible?
I just don't know whether Millennium Falcon is going to be in 42 or 43 ABY!

Wow, reading your posts Sue, I already feel a lot better about everything. I realize now that you have to market Star Wars to a larger crowd than just the small group of hardcore fans that read everything and anything with the words "Star Wars" on it, who spend their free time (and even some working hours!) debating on the forums, who attend Comic Con and Celebration just to hit up the Legacy of the Force panels (I was at both! And I'll be there at Comic Con this year!) just to have their voice heard. The way you explained things, about having a series too dark or angsty for the average reader, makes a ton of sense. As much as I love to see those things, I'll be very mindful in the future about those things. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Jim will write a well-balanced book that draws from the events in LotF, but pushes things forward into a positive light.

P.S. An e-book would be KILLER AWESOME. I would TOTALLY be fine if MF leaves LotF behind without too much reference if there was a short story or e-book about how people are coping. Heck, if you want to get Jaina and Jag together in an e-book instead of a novel, I'd be down with that too. Or a comic. As long as we saw something official and canon, I'd be totally satisfied. I just don't want to go out and have to write a fanfiction in order to satiate my desire to see something I want to see happen. (I'm really easy to please, honest!)

Wow. You know, my timeline wasn't correct. I was basing it all on Ben's birthday and I know I didn't do something right. i always wanted to fix it and make it right, but i could never get the time to get on top of it again. Maybe someone here has figured it all out.

I can try to get an ebook or something in between.... But there has to be a story for it to be set in too and people have to carry on somehow.

Wait... what? No no, your timeline was correct in regards to Ben's birthday, with Exile taking place about two-thirds through the year, just as Edge of Victory II: Rebirth did in 26 ABY. I was just wondering if the rest of the books caused the finale to spill over into 41 ABY.
Were there any problems with the timeline? I didn't think so...
Edit: What was it with your timeline that is incorrect, Sue? I think it makes sense... some fans have put together this estimated timeline, which has Revelation beginning sixty days after Sacrifice ends, which is 12 weeks x 5 days.

Thats the strange thing about the NJO series. It shocked us with the fact that main characters can die.....why I 'm not sure considering major characters have always died in all but one of the Star Wars films. But somehow we got used to them living ,especially during the NR era.
Then after the NJO everyone (at least here on the boards) have become obsessed with Power, lightsaber skills, whos gonna die and whos gonna kill them. Theres plenty of room for that kind of family fun, but I'm happy with Star Wars the way it was meant to be . Fantasy.
Lucenos very good at keeping things balanced. We'll have drama, action and comedy. The way Star Wars was intended. (and hopefully alot more R2D2)

hi sue, i hope you don't mind me asking you a question since you seem to know a lot about the exact planning of the books.
spoilers
the whole mando/nanovirus thing...did you realize that it would also effect all the clones and their children and grandchildren to release something that effects boba and mirta? was that thought about at all? with how much karen traviss has done to introduce us to "clan skirata" in the republic commando books, now the whole clan is close to wiped out. it sucks to think there is one more book coming about the nulls and clones and knowinghat they get to be happy and have a real life with family, but in the back of my mind to think that it won't be that happy. knowing what will happen to their families is going to make it harder to read i think. was that planned? will anything be written about what happens to mandalore with the virus and with the bombing the imps did?

I am wondering if there is anything in the works to get back to the swashbuckling story lines like the OT? I miss the humor and banter, the comraderie, the chance to really get to know and understand my favorite main characters. I've kept up with all the EU novels as they've been released, but I'm finding it harder and harder to stay engaged as characters come out of the blue and disappear again. I have no interest in comics or games, so references to events or characters from these outlets get lost of me. While I understand each author wants to have a voice and add their own new characters into the vaunted universe of Star Wars, for me I still want to know what's going on with Luke, Han, Leia & the gang.

The NJO series took the novels in a very dark direction and I felt too many plot lines and not enough depth. I found the Dark Nest trilogy very bizarre, but had high hopes for the Legacy series. While not completely disappointed, i felt there still too many plots / sub-plots going which left way too many unresolved questions. For instance - what happened to Tycho? Is he dead? Wedge was brought in and then disappeared. He didn't even come up in Mara's funeral scenes. Missing opportunities like these leave me feeling more disappointed than satisfied. I had hoped this series would be a great opportunity to show Luke & Ben's father/son relationship - but instead it's so disjointed and undeveloped, it's got me feeling like Luke is the worst father ever...and Luke is my favorite character! I couldn't imagine Luke not having an awesome relationship with Ben - will this ever get addressed/repaired?

Are there any plans (or if you can't/won't get specific, have there been even minor discussions at meetings) about expanding the roles of the characters not named Skywalker/Solo? For instance, I'm re-reading the NJO series now, and one of the major differences I'm finding (and enjoying) is that a lot of the books have characters like Corran Horn, or Ganner Rhysode, or the like playing prominent roles. In LotF, if you weren't related to the Skywalker/Solos, or a villain (ie. Lumiya/Alema), there weren't many "starring" roles played by other characters.
Any chance we'll see future books center on, perhaps, "new Jedi characters", much like in the past we were given the Horns, the Durrons, the Sebatynes, the Tahiris, the Tenel Kas, etc.

Sue, I wanted to say that I was intrigued by the idea of LOTF and seeing a Skywalker descendant fall to the dark side. I greatly enjoyed the series, including the multiple authors. Many thanks for taking on such an endeavour! But I have to say that I was sorely disappointed with the ending. I spent the better part of 2 years reading the series and NJO and DN so that I could fill in the backstory on Jacen and the other characters. At the end I was left with ---Why? Why did I spend my free time reading (and rereading) these books to only come to the end and not see it properly closed? Was it because Millenium Falcon will really continue the story or because Invincible was just that poor of a book?
