Yes, this is part of the plan. A novel will come out sometime around the game release time and that's all that's been determined so far. I'll let you know as things develop.
Oh, thank goodness. I'm not really much of a gamer and I was pretty bummed that I was going to be missing out on this exciting new era in SW history. But, this helps a lot.
I breathe a sigh of relief.

I figured that the new cover for Rebel Force sounded like what you described FOTJ as being 'iconic' and less of a painting.
Yes, that's true. The Rebel Force cover is somewhat similar to the Fate of the Jedi cover design. The SW logo will be in the usual place across the top of the book, and the cover art design will be a bit different... but the same general feeling.

Something fellow fan Thunder brought up in our Outcast thread has me wondering..
Has there ever been any thoughts into letting Luke, Ben, Leia and the family take some time out of saving the galaxy and go seek out Padme's relatives on Naboo.
I'm wondering if LFL/Del Rey just haven't found a way for it to happen yet or if there's something that stops it from happening.
Since the Dark Nest where Artoo revealed the backstory, the characters have mentioned now knowing about some prequel events and they now know about Padme.
Curious if perhaps a stand alone or perhaps somewhere within a series like Fate of the Jedi, Luke could take a "crisis timeout" with his son with possibly Leia and other Solos to meet their long lost relatives and find out more about Padme.
IMO, it would be fun for a lot of readers.

It's certainly something that could fit in the intervening years between the DN trilogy and LOTF. It might be interesting to see Jacen having some convos with relatives of Padme's that may have known young Anakin Skywalker and can regale him with tales of how great he was and how his fall happened. Maybe show Jacen thinking that Anakin was foolish or selfish and that he could've avoided such mistakes. You know, sowing more seeds.

True Vanda...though I have to admit to not really wanting to hear more from Jacen so much as just having Luke, Leia and Ben find more about their lost relatives in a "peaceful" manner.
More like...
Luke: *whistles* I'm calling a Crisis Timeout! Let's take a brief vacation and go say hello to my mom's side of the family! Wanna come, son and sis?

There should be an opinion poll of all the ideas I've seen mentioned on here from time to time. Several times I've seen "a Padme book," "a SW PI novel with a PI actually doing PI work," "filling in the gaps that got left out of the last series," and "Padme's descendants going back to Naboo and finding out more about her."
Did I leave anything out? It would be interesting to see all of these in an online poll and see which turned out to be the most popular.
Maybe I should just go to TFN and post one...

I see what you're saying, but Jacen/Jania are the same relationship to Padme as Ben is. It doesn't really make sense for Luke and Leia to go looking into Padme's past with Ben and not Jaina/Jacen (if he's alive at whatever time point it's written).

Ah, I get what you're meaning...Vanda, I totally agree that Leia should bring her kids along too. I thought you were meaning that it would be part of Jacen's 5 year journey where he goes alone to Naboo and uses it as yet another reinforcement to turn into yet another Sith Lord.
I'd rather see the perspective from Leia, Luke, Ben, Jaina's POV then having Jacen's POV point more reasoning/excuses for what he did in Lotf. That's all I meant. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah, no I didn't mean a whole novel from Jacen's perspective. Just that he would be along for the ride and maybe make an ominous comment or two.

My idea for a plotline would be on the lines of a discussion/repercussions of Jedi heredity. I don't know if this has been covered in books (I'm a bit behind, just starting LotF), but ever since the PT introduced the concept of "without attatchments" I have been looking at EU material, TotJ, JYK, YJK and NJO and wondering if there is not some form of resentment to Force heredity amongst the Jedi and/or others as offspring will be Force sensitive and therefore elligible for Jedi training, etc. All 3 of Han/Leia's kids are Force-users, Jacen and Tenel Ka's child is Force-sensitive and with the Legacy comics it is clear that the Skywalker lineage bred Force-users. It seems to me that there must be some conflict somewhere regarding this heredity nature of some of the Jedi (some of whom just so happen to be the "big-names" in the Jedi).

Hey Sue, in the FOTJ series, will we learn about wat the Solos did with Jacen's body. Meaning like if he had a funeral or somthing.

Hello, Sue, hope all is going well..
Maybe you can answer this, and maybe you're not able to at this time, if not, I completely understand. But I was wondering, which, if any author(s) came up with the plot line for FOTJ, like the mysterious 'entity' and everything else? I know a lot of other series' it has been more of a group thing, but I know I heard that Denning had a big hand in the plotlines for LOTF, and was wondering if it was just one specific author, or a team thing?
Thanks in advance for your time.
