Here's what I'm getting at:
In ANH Obi Wan finds Chewbacca...did he know to look for him based on what had taken place in ROTS. Also, did Yoda maybe mention to Obi Wan about Chewbacca. As for Chewie...does he remember Yoda and all that took place in ROTS when he appears in ANH?

I think Yoda tells Obi Wan about Chewbacca, but it is not in the movie.

I think that it is just fate/the force that brought Obi-Wan to Chewbacca. Even though Yoda and Chewbacca meet in ROTS I don't think there is anything about his time on Kashyyyk that Yoda would have brought up with Obi-Wan considering that it is right after this that the stuff hits the fan.

I don't doubt that Chewbacca know OB1. In the period between EII and EIII OB1 became a famous General whose reputation along Anakin's was known throughout the Galaxy.

markbro, I agree that Chewie probably knew of Obi-Wan; he most certainly knew of Yoda and the Jedi, which is probably why he agreed to take OB1 and Luke to meet Han Solo. again, just my opinion.

Biancardi and Geebus77 summed up my thoughts, but I have one thing to say: Maybe Chewbacca saw Obi-Wan in the Cantina and recognized him. Unlikely, yes, but that would be cool.

Probably, but they had to keep a low profile.

Well, if you remember...Obi-Wan and Chewy were whispering to eachother out of earshot of Luke....he was probably telling him..."Chewie, good to see you, that kid over there is Anakin's son..and we need to take him to Alderaan...." and "Keep this whole thing hush hush, till we sort stuff out" Or something like that...or maybe not.

i think it is a mutual respect thing ... chewbacca knows he can trust the jedi because of his peoples past experiences (and perhaps he has personal experience in ROTS?) .. and OB1 knows that chewbacca's race is a trustworthy one. OB1 probably saw Chewbacca in the cantina in ANH and figured that a Wookie can definitly be trusted not to be involved with the Empire .. and would not betray them. so he was a safe bet for reliable transport.

The battle on the wookie planet is not in the book, so we don't know what happens there until we see the movie. We do know that order 66 is put into affect though. How does yoda escape? I think this is where Chewy will come into play and save the day. If that's the case, I think Yoda might have mentioned it to Obi, but this is all speculation of course

It was talked about.Once the Order 66 is given,Yoda is on a balcony i believe with Tar-ful and Chewy on each side of him and troopers walk up from behind raising their blasters, but before they can kill him.....Yoda chops off their heads if i recall.

More troops then try to kill him and this is where the wookies then see whats going on and help Yoda,i think Yoda even gets on Chewy and they take off fast.Later, will get some comic relief amoungst the carnage and death on the wookiee homeworld as Yoda is covered in mud and talking like a crazy old creature just like he did when he 1st met Luke on Dagobah to fool the troops and do mind tricks on them

I'd like to think that maybe Chewie had heard of the legendary Obi Wan before Ep IV, however, if he did, the following confuses me...

Remember when they first get to the Death Star and Obi Wan goes off by himself to deactivate the shield generator, Chewie says something to Han, then Han goes, "Boy, you said it, Chewie. Where'd you find that old fossil?" (or something like that). This makes me think that Chewie doesn't know of Obi Wan, otherwise why would he bag him like that?
