As we close in on the 6-months-to-go mark for Revenge of the Sith, I'd like to start a discussion of references to Episode III that you are now seeing (or think you are seeing) in the Expanded Universe.
The single restriction is that you please don't post Ep III spoilers not revealed in the EU. Keep those discussions to the Episode III-specific forums.

I can think of a number off the top of my head:
* the introduction of General Grievous in the Clone Wars Micro-Series
* clone commanders, such as Commander Cody and Commander Bly, appearing in HNN articles and Republic comics
* Venator-class Star Destroyer mentioned at the end of Jedi Healer
Plus, we're probably going to be seeing stuff in the Reversal of Fortune webstrip, the lead-in Republic comics, Obsession series, and Labyrinth of Evil.
Should be fun!

In addition to those:
* Anakin's new hairdo, seen in Republic #69 and on the cover of Jedi Trial.
* the "new" Imperial-style uniforms for the Republic officers. (Republic #64, 69)
* Kashyyyk appearing in Republic Commando (the game).
* Aayla and Commander Bly working together, as they will be doing in RotS.
* The new clone trooper armor premiered in Republic #68.
* Those spiffy newfangled Jedi Starfighters that we've been seeing in Hyperspace (here and here) will evidently be appearing in Obsession. To wit: Obsession #3 cover.
That's all I can come up with off the top of my head. More later....

Obsession #1's first page (as seen in the online preview) says something like "5 months before the Battle of Coruscant".
The second story in SW Tales #21 talks about a character fighting for the Seppies during the Clone Wars, "He was involved with some of the Confederacy's most devastating campaigns, including the assault on Coruscat. We all know how that ended."

Something I don't understand about the First Battle of Coruscant. If going by Continuity it should be the 3rd battle of Coruscant(not counting the Battle's not recorded). But if it's a reference to the First Battle of Coruscant in the CLONE WARS, then it doesn't make any sence, because the Clone War ends with the battle of Coruscant. Unless there is another battle during the movie, but that's still after the Clone Wars.
So I don't understand the whole FIRST thing

I think they were trying to distinguish it from the several other battles of Coruscant that took place during the New Republic era and the NJO. But they seem to have forgotten the previous ones that took place in the TOTJ era.

I've been too caught up reading post-ROTJ EU books. Would any of you be kind enough to fill me in on any significant political and or military developments mentioned in the EU between EpII and III? I would just like to know who is fighting who, and possibly what Palpatine is doing in his new position of power as supreme chancellor. Has Palpatine made any more grabs for power in the EU? I'd appreciate any response.

The events of the game have already been referenced in Holonet, IIRC.

The game battlefront has a battle of Kashyyk level that looks like it might be the 'new' look for the planet.
