I was into the show all the way up to when the dinosaur or whatever-the-heck(as I will now call it) showed up.

A show about survival of the elements and each other I think would be great! Go into the thought processes and personalities of all the different characters, perhaps turn it into a Lord of the flies people killing other people thing. But nope, instead they make it sci-fi. Not that I have anything agenst sci-fi mind you(I'm on a starwars forum). But they didnt sell it as a sci fi. I personally am not interested in a show about a huge invisible whatever-the-heck.

Something else I got a kick out of was that we dont need to worry about any of our favorite characters getting killed off. You know why? Because the series cannot introduce any new characters, they have set themselves to a certain number of people. So they cant just go around indescriminately killing off characters, that is, if they want it to last more than a season.

2 random thoughts come to mind when I think about this show:

1) If you're in a plane, and it breaks in half in the sky, there's not going to be you and 47 other folks to hang out on island. it's going to be 30-60 seconds of freaky death. Shows over.

Think about it. I mean, you're going 400 mph in the freakin sky. Your vehicle breaks in half. Yer dead, dude. If I was going down to the Piggly Wiggly in my 93 Altima at 45 mph, and it breaks in half, I'm dead. Why do these folks get a cosmic break? Nope. Title of show, plane breaks in half, death, credits. We out. 2 minutes, tops.

2) In that case, can I start a show on ABC called "Found", which is a lot more upbeat, lasts 60 seconds, and basically consists of a guy saying "hey...THERE you are. whew."

DM - the eternal pointless optimist.

It was the little boy's dog. I believe there is a special place they keep pets on planes.....

Neither do I ... but I have it on tape and plan on watching it again tonight. I'll look for that.

Now for a poll question:
Who here thinks that Dominic Monaghan (the bass playin dude; the guy who was a Hobbit in LotR) isn't all he seems - and what WAS he doing all alone in that bathroom ... ?? ;)

The boy says, "Where's Vincent?" in his first scene I believe, and when they first here the noises in the woods, the boy says "Is it Vincent?" and the dad says "I think it's bigger than Vincent." I just assumed that Vincent was the dog..............

And I think Dom Monaghan's character, Charlie is on some type of drug. He was kind of in a daze at the beginning (and was scratching himself like a crack head). That's my theory.

WOW!

episode two was spectacular.

the last 5 minutes was hella thrilling.

so about that big beast: it's either the smaller polar bear's mom or some other kind of monster (If you know, don't spoil it)

and one last thing, this show has superb character development.

I love this show. Its a sort of offering in place of Alias. Stupid abc... making us wait till January to see what happens. Ok, done with that little rant.
This show rocks. I had to watch it because its from the brilliant J.J. Abrams. Not to mention Dominic Monaghan is in it ,and I'm a huge lotr fan. I can't wait to see what happens next week. I can't believe kate is the convict. That's a classic Abrams twist for you. And that polar bear. WOW this show is interesting. Ok now that we've established that I liked it! ;) :D
