I just finished watching the pilot to Lost on ABC, and I must say, I was blown away. J. J. Abrams (Felicity, Alias) has done it again, and the cast is fantastic. Anyone else watch?

A plane that crashes on a random island. There are 48 survivors and there is no hope of rescue etc. It sounds lame when you just explain it but, it is really awesome. It is a mix of Survivor, Jurassic Park, and the X-files with just a touch of Alias. I loved it.

I haven't watched it either. But it's getting good reviews all over the place.

Well deserved ones, I must say. I can't really describe why it is so good. It just is.

I thought it was quite good. I could've done with it being more bloody, though.

Overall it just looked great. Makes me want to live in Hawaii.

That's true. Ugh, the pilot... I thought he'd be in pieces.

It was almost worse how he was.......it's weird cuz he was a regular cast member on Alias. To see him get killed so early on was kind of crazy.

Warning: Minor Spoiler ahead !!

Your description is very funny ... cuz that's how I described it to a friend earlier today:

A mix of X-Files, Survivor, and Jurassic Park ... exactly the same three ... :D

My thoughts:
1. Personally, it shoulda been more violent. The dead pilot in the tree shocked me for its goriness. But I'm glad it got past the censors. Censorship will be the death of our country if it isn't held in check!!

2. I'm surprised we didn't get to SEE the plane crash ... it was a very interesting opening, but not what I expected. Hell, they showed the tail come off the darn plane in the previews!!! Why wasn't that in the REAL darn show ?!?

3. I was immediately struck by the sheer number of BEAUTIFUL people that all booked seats on the same flight. 'Nuff said there ... :^O

4. What the heck IS that thing ... ??? :O

I think we'll see more of the plane and it crashing & tearing up in the flash backs.
