I suppose you would need to see an official source like the actual script.
Unfortunately, I don't have access to an official script or other behind the scenes info for the Holiday Special. That stuff's probably buried deep in some Raiders-like warehouse somewhere.

Is the holiday special, or at least most of it, considered C-canon? If so, which specific parts aren't?
Aside from things already referenced in later sources, I'd consider it S-Canon. EU creators can take or leave those parts however they see fit.

Thanks!

Tasty: What is the current canon ranking of the Marvel comics? From all the references and reprints lately, I'm fairly sure they're C-canon (with a few S-canon elements), but can you confirm whether or not this is correct?

Thanks. :)

Tasty, officially, how often does Life Day occur? I've always thought it was every three years, and there's a reference in Rebel Dawn (near the beginning -- set, according to the Essential Chronology, 2.5 years BBY) that the last Life Day had occured "about a standard year earlier." If this is so, does that mean the only Life Day to occur while Han was with the Rebel Alliance occurred 2.5 years ABY? And if this is so, what do we make of the Life Day (which seems less like the Wookiee Life Day and more like a regular birthday) being celebrated aboard the Star of Empire in Galaxy of Fear # 10: The Doomsday Ship, set almost a year after the Battle of Yavin?

Had a question about the Battle of Ruusan:

The order of events and how they intercut between Bane, Kaan, and Hoth in Path of Destruction and in Jedi vs. Sith are different. Most of the events are basically the same, but, for instance, Pernicar dies a lot later in the comic, and it seems that Farfalla's return is handled as one event in the comic but two separate events in the novel (between when, Hoth pushes Farfalla away).

The two cousins, Bug and Tomcat, also don't appear in the scenes with Githany and Kopecz that they do in the comic, while young Zannah/Rain doesn't meet Bane until after things calm down in the novel, whereas she's with Bane before that in the comics.

I was curious as to which of the two different versions of the battle (and the actions of its key players) is now considered accurate. (I'm guessing that it's like with the Battle of Coruscant, where we're seeing it from two different historical perspectives, so the truth is a blending, but I wanted to be sure before I tried to summarize POD for my timeline and integrate it with JvS.)

Thanks.

(By the way, if anyone is still having concerns as to the gender of Revan or the outcome of the first KOTOR, definitely check out POD. That'll help clear things up rather well.)

Is Rute Gunnay's name now Rute Gunray like it says in The Complete Visual Dictionary?

S-canon, with stuff that has been referenced as C-canon.

officially, how often does Life Day occur?
Wookiee Life Day occurs every 3 years, one of which fell at ~1.5 ABY. There might be non-Wookiee cultures which call birthdays life days. Galaxies celebrated Life Day in "real time" at around Christmas.

I was curious as to which of the two different versions of the battle [of Ruusan] (and the actions of its key players) is now considered accurate. Yes, "integrated" with the more recent source being being favored for dealing with the concrete inconsistencies.

I smell a What's the Story Entry! Maybe he was a relative of Nute Gunray who changed his name after Gunray was brought to trial. Probably would have been better off changing his name to Michael Bolton.

So -- Tasty, would this mean that Rebel Dawn starts 3.5 years BBY? Where do you have it starting on your timeline?

On the subject of JvS and PoD discrepancies, the only ones that are really bugging me:

1) Lehon or Rakata Prime? Is this just a case of the world having a "nickname" during Bane's time and people rediscovering the correct name later, or vice versa?

2) Farfalla and his troops are shown being sucked into the thought bomb in JvS, whereas PoD has them alive and well and surviving the wars. I assume the latter is "correct", as it were? Course, the former is merely a soldier's recollections, so I guess the guy might be shellshocked/crazy/drunk and just making up stuff.

I guess this Galaxies bit sort of reminds me of another question:

Are all NPC characters in Galaxies canon? IE: Are the Rebels back on Yavin IV some 1.5 years ABY, somehow?

I've got RD at 2 BBY

Lehon or Rakata Prime?
Lehon. Consider Rakata Prime a nickname.

2) Farfalla and his troops are shown being sucked into the thought bomb in JvS, whereas PoD has them alive and well and surviving the wars.
If it comes up in a future source, I would lean toward the POD version of events to be the most likely. We tend to leave any seeming inconsistencies for future authors to interpret.

Are all NPC characters in Galaxies canon?
Unless you've noticed a conflict, then yes, they are canon. I'm not 100% sure I have all of them documented in the Holocron, though. I get my info primarily from the strategy guides and the website.

Interesting. Though having RD at 2 BBY -- doesn't that push Life Day to 0 ABY and to 3 ABY, not 1.5 ABY, thanks to the reference to the previous Life Day being "about a standard year" earlier?
