I used to go to Bootfairs (Second hand stools) when I was small. This guy had a big suitcase and he had loads of starwars figures. It was here that I bought a red caped Bib fortuna. I was looking in a magazine and there was one for sale. I have Steven Sansweets action figure archive book but this figure is not in there nor is it in the starwars memorabilia books. I took it to my local starwars shop and the woman looked at the figure and said "Its faked". I find this very hard to believe considering there would have been very little point in faking it back then. I picked it up for 50 p, along with all the others I bought. Could anyone tell me why has this figure got a red cape?, was it a special edition?, or a later model?. The cape is so much better on this Bib fortuna than the standard grey one that was brought out in '83. The Red cape has 3 sequins on each of the collers and its got a velvity feel. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.

Mexico's Lili Ledy produced the Red caped Bib Fortuna, As well as the regular gray cape, Back in the 80's Collection, You can chek more information at www.toysrgus.com., There are many fakes nowadays, But back then there was only the Lili Ledy's, This are pretty rare, Even in Mexico.

Yo,

The sure-fire way to authenticate a Lili Ledy Bib Fortuna, at least the figure itself is that it wont say "Made in Taiwan" or "Made in Hong Kong/H.K."

All Ledy figures with the exception to the Mexican Sy Snootles, and Vader (as far as I know) will either have no markings whatsoever other than the (C)LFL and some like the Hoth Rebel Soldier will just say "Made in "

Don't assume that all figures without markings are instantly Ledy figures as a lot of the first and second run ROTJ figures that were made in Hong Kong simply lacked markings, but in some cases you'll stumble into them =)

All Production Bib Fortuna figures that didn't come out of Mexico have markings. The cloak on these is a dark burgundy color as opposed to the prototype version which has more of a red cape (like on the 77 back ROTJ card)
