Since the Discovery blasted off on on October 23 for a two-week mission (with Luke's lightsaber on board!), Star Wars fans have been leaving their best wishes to the seven STS-120 astronauts headed to the International Space Station, at Spacecenter.org. (So don't forget to make sure the Discovery crew knows that the Force is with them!)
Now thanks to CollectSPACE.com, Starwars.com visitors have a chance to ask an astronaut on board a question as well.
Feel free to ask how they feel about having Luke's Return of the Jedi lightsaber onboard. Or if the Star Wars saga inspired them to be astronauts? Or if they find themselves quoting the movie over and over, "Hey that's no moon!" What question would you like to ask? Your question may get picked and asked to an astronaut! But we need your questions by end of the day 5pm EST on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
So post your questions HERE in this thread!

Seeing as how many astronauts are also teachers, professors, and the like, then how were they chosen to be launched into space? What did they do that made 'em stand out to NASA? Did they write to NASA? Did NASA come to them?

What is your favorite view from the ISS? Looking back at the Earth, or looking out into the cosmos? And why?

What are some interesting potential destinations for future probes? What about for humans? To what extent do you think manned missions will play a role in the next fifty years of space exploration, and where will they be headed? And most importantly, where and how in the coming years will we be looking for life/places to live in the galaxy?

G'day from Australia! Having bungy jumped, been on rollercoasters, and been pushed high on swings, I was wondering if weightlessness was comparable to those feelings, or something completely different? Thanks, Jason.

Hello from Earth! Do you think NASA will be sending anyone back to the moon in the near future? I've always been curious.

How is space travel as we know it similar to the world of Star Wars?

Have you ever seen anything amoung the stars that struck you as strange and possibly as some sorta evidence of another technologically-advanced race? In other words, any UFO sightings? Or are sightings like that not permitted to be discussed?

Is the transition from living on earth to living on the space station very difficult, and how do you feel when you arive home? Also, is it hard to live/communicate with astronauts from other countries while on board the ISS?

What is it like to be so far away from earth? How does it make you feel to look out and see earth in the window? How does it feel to be able float instead of walk? Lastly how has being an astronaut affected how you view your life on earth?

Do you think there is any other intelligent life in our galaxy? If so, do you think it's as diverse as that in the Star Wars saga? Do you think we'll ever have networks connecting our worlds?

Do you think that there are other species like the ones Star Wars out there and do you think we'll ever get to communicate with them? Also, does the adjustment from Earth to the space station which is smaller take a while to get used to?

Do you have anything close to an Astromech droids to help with maintenance and repairs of the ships and related technology? How cool is to be in space?
