VIP'S We never heard that announcement of who will publish SW books after 2005 or who will write the Episode III lead-in novel yet. You said it would be the end of the year. IT'S 2004! WHAT'S THE DEAL?!!

IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!

I just received notice that the contract with the prequel author has been signed, so there will be an announcement on starwars.com very soon -- as soon as Pablo can write something up.

The future publishing contract is awaiting signature, so I'm hopeful we can announce that very soon... although I don't know how long it takes to get a signature. Seems like forever.

Ah, Master Kyp.... I wrote a brief note yesterday, including the PO box address here, so you could send me a letter containing your banned topic, but as I was trying to post it, my computer froze. I took it as a sign, of course.

Hey you are right, he's said to be as tall as the door way on raxus prime, and that was like 7-8 feet in the game, IIRC, he was only like as tall as Anakin...

He also is said to have a claw-like crest on his bald reptillian head something that desann doesn't have... Nor does Prax have in the game...

He is also said to have a broad mouth with too many big square teeth... That's not correct with the game's version either, where prax has a narrow human-like head, compared to Desann's broad mouth (which has sharp teeth IIRC)...

The only way that the wizards article could work is if there are two different praxs,

. One is a human-like species, and the other a huge reptilian creature...

Wait, no? Maybe he's really a shape changer, perhaps Shi'Ido sometimes in the guise of a Chistori with a crest,

. Which lead to historians thinking he was a chistori,

If LFL starts turning events into tall tales, they might as well start saying there isn't really a true star wars continuity, and they can just say every story is just fuzzy story that may or may not happened as shown in a story...

Val, its not really that bad. Think of the EU as a grand bank of different historical sources from eons ago. Some corroborate, some don't, and you have a little competition going on between some of them. There's a truth, but its got to be haggled out of the comparison, and its all still subordinate to the movies, which in my RL "suspension of disbelief" little view here for a bit, is like watching a video recording or documentary about a grand event. The images and film is going to be a bit more reliable...but more complete versions of the dug up ol' tape may show up, and trump that (Special Editions)... :-p

Certainly, I understand that obviously palpatine wasn't the emperor at the point, and the person fenn shysa, got to know the features of, couldn't have been leia, but I'm sure there is a way to interpret the story so that it could fit...

I don't understand why this is such a big continuity snaffu..it shouldn't be.
Fen Shysa never says he saw her picture during a briefing in the clone wars era. He just said he was briefed on the enemies of the Empire.

So what if he was away from his homeworld for many years and returned shortly after ANH and Leia became a traitor to the Empire and found his people were slaves. All those years he worked for the Empireand he never knew. Maybe heard rumors but never believed them. Anyway after that he forms a rebellion. but since hewas working for the empire for many years, he saw a picture of leia when hewas briefed ont he enemies of the empire.

Must have been how the comic's original writer intended it. For is the writer intended Leia to be an enemy of the empire during the clone wars, why did they wait till ANH to arrest her. ASo the writer of that comic muszthave intended shysa to have seen leia's picture AFTER the clone wars

Hmm, that is the simplest explanation I've ever heard for the paragraphs, putting one during the clone wars, and putting the other after episode III. It makes perfect sense,

The nice thing about it is the first paragraph, that refers to the clone wars, says he was setting up his "made his move to set up a galactic empire" during the clone wars, so it wasn't even an empire at the time, neither was he an emperor,

. As AOTC has shown us the clone wars was his move to set up a galactic Empire,

. It falls into place pretty darn well, if one interprets it that way, imo,

And anyhoo as for Fett working wit he mandalorian protectors, why not. He's already working as abounty hunter for jabba the hutt. And according to your own published sources, the AotC VD, Mandalorian boys go to the trials of manhood at the age of 13. sometimes those trials are deadly. This according to sources you guys approved and had published.

So, why can't someone who wants to join the mandalorian system protectors, join as a kid if its all right according to their culture.
(the marvel comic says these mandaloirians were charged with the ultimate protection of the Mandalore system so they were different from the tradional mandalorian mercanary army Jango belonged to, but they probaly followed the same customs and traditions). Kids could do a number of important non combat jobs(relatively) and still be in danger.

I can see the mandalorians using younger mandalorians as scouts. Small. Fast. Able to goin places that adults can't. They could even be used for sabotage. Such as Jango was used by Jaster Mereel in open seasons.

It would be logical for Boba to eventually try to join the Mandalorian System Protectors. After all, his training by his father was never completed. How better to complete your Mandalorian training than by joining actual mandalorians. And certainly those young adult Boba Fett books aren't going to expand the entire clone wars are they? Surely there's time for young Boba to make his way to Mandalore.

So Boba travels to mandalore. Proves himself in training, is promoted to a position over a bunch of young mandalorian boys, Tobbi Dala and Fen Shysa among them. Palpatine talks to the governor of mandalore. Gets him to abuse the Mandalorian System Protectors by getting em to fight off world for the cause of the Republic. The Mandalorian System protectors are wiped out except for Tobbi Dala, Fenn Shysa , and Boba Fett. Mandalore itself is enslaved by the empire after the Clone Wars.

Why the Mandalorian System Protectors fight for Palpatine is up to you guys. How they're wiped out is up to you. Fen Shysa never went into detail and there's possibilities for great stories.

Also, if you guys are keen on having the Mandalorian warriors be completely extinct, justsaythe System Protectors were formed by the Mandalorian government after Jango's group was destroyed.
