The classic trilogy DVDs are not going to come out for some time, or so say most sources. What features would you like to see when they do finally hit the stands?

I'd like to see 3 commentary tracks: Lucas, Williams, and one with a group of 5 people.
Deleted scenes and trailers are a must, and The Magic of Myth would be cool too.

The option to include whichever scenes the viewer sees fit so that instead of being stuck with the "original edition" or a "special edition" or a "final edition," we get to have "our edition." Personally I love Star Wars, but I like some of the scenes from the original edition better than the special edition. Greedo shooting at Han Solo first is the worst change, since it completely altered Han Solo's character. I would LOVE to permanently remove that updated scene from my version of Star Wars.

In all honesty, is something like this possible? For a series of movies like Star Wars, I am sure the fans would love to make their own edition!

The original editions MUST be on the DVDs - the SEs were cool, but it's not like the movies weren't good enough originally.

Other than that, I have no real requests. If I can avoid seeing Greedo shooting first, it'll be worth the wait.

The "Biggs on Tattoine" scene, and the Wampa killing the trooper scene.

Original Trailers are a must...
Also the ability to watch the theatrical release and the FINAL/ULTIMATE Edition on the same disc-ie, T2...All the documentaries that came out in the late 70s/early 80s would be good too.

Don't forget about the Toshi Station scene...and I think some conceptual art would be pretty cool.

Things I want on the DVDs of Episodes IV-VI....
Trailers for all released versions
Both versions of the movies (good luck because I don't think we'll get that wish)
Audio Commentaries by George Lucas, Gary Kurtz, Irvin Kershner, Ben Burtt, John Williams, and Dennis Muren
Music-only audio track (as in the Superman: The Movie DVD)
The documentaries
The complete screenplays (as in the Die Hard DVD)
No unnecessary deleted scenes, though. The Tosche Station scenes were nice but they slowed down the story.
And I LIKE the Greedo-shooting-first sequence!

A Wish List:
1) The "original"/Theatrical Versions of the films. (If only for their historical value--- great to see what Lucas
initially DID come up with, given the restraints of not having c.g.i. AND after-the-fact rethinks of his characters.) (Yes, I'm talking about the "Greedo shoots first" Special Edition addition.)
2)Lucas commentary. (Perhaps to explain
his Special Edition and upcoming? Director's Cut revisions along with the notes on filming and casting choices.)
3)Production commentary with ILM-ers.
4)Music-only audio,with John Williams commentary.
5)Text commentary by Steve Sansweet on the minutiae of the SW universe up there on the screen. (Like what Mike Okuda did on the recent STAR TREK:TMP disc... and hopefully just as snarky.)
Could think of some more, but the above would somewhat satisfy the obsessive SW fanatic in me....

heck, with all these other commentaries, could we have a character commentary? I'm picturing Threepio bemoaning his fate throughout the film, with some witty translated Artoo repartee...give a little SW "behind the scenes"...
Maybe Han and Leia doing a "how we met", or Yoda, Ben and Anakin giving a play-by-play on Force action, elucidating the finer points of Jedi technique...

I know that the classic trilogy wouldn't
be released on DVD for awhile, but why
are they up for bid on ebay.com? Are
those on ebay fake or what? They
look kind of authentic though. Just
wondering.

Well, I for one would agree with the posts on the other pages:
#1: Just in general, change everything that made the trilogy "soft" i.e. Gweedo shooting first.
#2:Fix Rancor.
#3:Lukes R2 line on Dagoba
Those are just off the top of my head. With all the resources George has, he could leave this stuff to a team of guys/gals he doesn't have to "monitor" 24/7.

We should not have to wait until III is done for cryin' out loud. I think we've been really patient. I realise this is Georges creation and he can do what he wants, but come on, waiting for the technolgy to catch up, to create Jar Jar? He could have created Jar Jar in a test shoot and seen that it was just "showing off" the CG. All the CG stuff does not add up to Bantha fodder without the script absolutley being the best it can be, and now with no ties to Hollywood, they can take all the time in the world to develop the story. We love you George, it would be nice for someone to tell you "no" once and while though.
